Annie Love Griffin, age 85, of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2019.
She was born in Union County on March 30, 1934, daughter of the late Vann and Rosa Love. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ernest G. Griffin; her daughter, Gail Privette; her five brothers, Brice, Charlie, Willard, Homer and Tommy; and by her four sisters, Maude, Christine, Ona and Daisy. Mrs. Griffin was a newspaper carrier for the Enquirer Journal and The Charlotte Observer for over 30 years.

Annie is survived by her three daughters, Robin O'Keefe, Trudy Starnes (Toby) and Sherry Nash (Todd); her seven grandchildren, Gilbert, Chris, Brandon, Jason, Jeremy, Wesley and Vanna; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Caylee, Lily, Peyton and Leighton and by her brother, Vann Love Jr.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Union County or to Monroe Rehabilitation Center. The family would like to thank the staff at Monroe Rehab and Hospice of Union County for their love and care.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, January 2, 2020 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Friday, January 3, 2020 in Lakeland Memorial Park with Pastor Douglas Rumley and Pastor Caroll Anthony officiating. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to serve the Griffin family.
