Julia Richardson Scott departed this life on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, North Carolina. Mrs. Scott was born in Sumter, SC to Mary Robins Richardson and the late Robert Richardson.

She was an alumna and employee of Bennett College, as a Circulation Liberian, for forty-one years, and was a faithful member of Eternal Life Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother Mary Richardson, she is survived by her husband of forty years Lafayette Scott, Sr. of Greensboro; children Melissa Richardson Ricks of Sumter, SC, Valerie Reyes of Winston-Salem, Robert E. Scott of Greensboro, and Lafayette Scott, Jr. of Greensboro; god-daughter Jainon Jones; grandchildren Kayla Scott, Lafayette James Scott, III, Robert E. Scott, Jr. (RJ), Charles Tyler Scott,Naija Reyes, Alexus Cates, Dyani Cates, Tyanna Parker, Jamiya Hayes, Jasmine Hayes, Kenneth Sturdivant, Honesty Hinton, Jazmine Sims, and Kelis Sims.

Funeral services: George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Green Haven Drive, Greensboro. with Rev. Phillip Noble officiating

Interment: Gilmore Memorial Park.
