Bob Curry Lindsey passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 30, 2019. He celebrated 90 years on this Earth.

Robert Curry Lindsey was born on August 2, 1929, to his parents: Huel Lindsey and Oda (Huffman) Lindsey in Chalk Mountain, Texas. He married his sweetheart, Ruth Alice (Slusher) Lindsey on December 5, 1953, and celebrated 57 years of marriage prior to her death in 2011. He was a beloved husband, father, papa, and great papa (pop pop) and the cornerstone of our family. Robert Curry Lindsey is survived by his loving son Timothy Lindsey, and wife, LeeAnn of Justin, TX; and daughter Elizabeth Myers, and husband Jimmy of Austin, TX; He was so proud of his 9 grandchildren: Jason Lindsey of Garland, TX, Nicole Kingsbury and husband, Nicholas of Fort Worth, TX, Sarah Grant and husband, Daniel of Austin, TX, Joshua Myers and wife, Katie of Austin, TX, Lindsey Meek and husband, Dillon of Waco, TX, Leslie Lindsey of Washington, D.C, Alyssa Earhart and husband, Michael of Grand Rapids, MN, Christina Ireton and husband, Jonathan of Fort Worth, TX, and Kate Lindsey of Roanoke, TX; and simply adored his 13 great grandchildren: Samantha, Greyson, and Emerson Earhart of Grand Rapids, MN, Ruthie, Joshua Jr., and Sam Myers of Austin, TX, Lucas and Sullivan Grant of Austin, TX, Mabry and Davis Meek of Waco, TX, Eleanor and Graham Ireton of Fort Worth, TX, and Lillie Lindsey of Roanoke, TX; as well as, sister Imogene Alexander, and brothers Roy and Eldon Lindsey and a host of other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son, Craig Robert Lindsey; parents, Oda and Huel Huffman; brothers, Lawrence, Wayne, Corry, and James; sisters, Virginia, Wanda, and Evelyn.
Robert Curry Lindsey served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on December 12, 1954. He completed his Bachelor of Science from North Texas State College in 1961 and graduated with his Master of Science degree from North Texas State University in 1965. He was an Educator and taught Science and Biology in Irving I.S.D., Ennis I.S.D., Putnam R.H.S.D., and Cisco I.S.D. He received his Superintendent Certification from Tarleton University and retired from Cisco Elementary after 16 years as School Principal in 1992. He continued to serve others by helping with job placement at the Texas Employment Commission in Abilene, TX, and then as Postmaster Relief in Rainbow, TX, as well as, served as a Volunteer for Hospice at the local Retirement Communities in Glen Rose. He loved his family, his church, and the outdoors. When not working, he was tending to his farm, animals, gardening, reading his bible, playing dominoes, and working daily crossword puzzles. And when family gathered, you would find him in the kitchen early morning whipping up a big helping of homemade biscuits and gravy.
The family of Robert Curry Lindsey invite you to visitation on Friday evening, January 10, 2020, from 6-8 pm, with Services following Saturday morning, January 11, 2020, at 10 am. Funeral Services and Arrangements for Robert Curry Lindsey have been faithfully entrusted to Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Wiley Funeral Home is located at 504 Holden Street, Glen Rose, Texas. For more information please call 254-897-2288. His final resting place will be at Nancy Smith Cemetery next to his beloved wife and the generations of family members preceding him.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Brookdale Spicewood Springs Assisted Living, as well as, Brookdale Hospice in Austin, Texas, for your compassionate and loving care you showed our dad daily as he fought his battle with end stage Parkinson's. We are eternally grateful for all the ways you honored him with respect and dignity and outpouring of love.
