Patricia Ann “Pat” Ames, age 74, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away Sunday morning, December 22, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.
Pat was born on August 20, 1945, in Munising, Michigan to the late Louis and Lulu May (Morrison) Manville. She graduated from Newberry High School with the class of 1963. On October 16, 1965, Pat married Herbert Ames at the Newberry United Methodist Church. Pat enjoyed giving back to her community through volunteer work. She volunteered at too many different places to list. She was an avid reader who enjoyed taking care of her plants and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and will be remembered for her famous homemade pizza. She also enjoyed going for rides all around the EUP and having picnics.
Pat is survived by her husband: Herbert Ames; her children: Mark Daniel Ames of Marinette, WI, Lisa (David) Belanger of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Sara (John) Brannan of Edmonds, WA, Rachel Sura of Racine, WI, Rebecca (Mike) Smith of Dafter, MI, and Michael (Stephanie) Ames of Milton, FL; fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by three brothers: Jim (Kathy) Manville of McMillan, MI, Dan (Amy) Manville of Ferndale, MI, and David (Terri) Manville of South Lyons, MI.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Polly Huffman; and a brother: Jack Manville.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday, December 30, 2019, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Baycliff Health Camp.
