Virginia A. Reed, age 93, Anoka, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019. She was born June 23, 1926, in Lexington, McLean County, IL to Claude Casey and Maude Mae (Hale) Hill. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1944 and came to the saving knowledge of the Lord as a teenager attending the local Friends church. On August 6, 1948, she married Roland L. Reed. They had two children, Marceille L. (Myers) and Mark A. Reed.

They went into full time pastoral ministry and continued faithfully to reach lives for 43 years together in home mission work, planting over 41 Baptist churches in Indiana and Minnesota, and establishing a Bible camp in Hackensack, MN. While raising kids and in ministry, she graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College (Fort Wayne, IN), completing Education degree programs in 1966. She then taught for 26 years in the Anoka-Hennepin School system. After her husband's death and her retirement, macular degeneration hindered her, but she continued in Christian ministry, enjoyed writing and conducting Bible study sessions, and always had a project. This was made possible by State Services for the Blind for which she was grateful.

Virginia is survived by one sister, Margaret Smallwood, Kokomo, IN; daughter Marceille Myers (Roger), Coon Rapids, MN; daughter-in-law, Bunnie (Propp) Reed, Salem, OR; 6 grandchildren: Scott Myers; Kimberly Myers; Steven (Sarah) Reed; Michael (Alissa) Reed; Mindy (Mike) Roth; Melinda (Matt) Horton; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rev. Dr. Roland L. Reed; her son Mark A. Reed; five brothers and sisters Edmund Hill; Edith Saucier; Mary Saucier; Charles Hill; Barbara Wade; and one great-granddaughter.
