Dolores Marian (Wieczorek) McKinney
September 23, 1923 – November 8, 2019
Resident of Mountain View for 58 years

Our beautiful mother Dolores Marian Wieczorek McKinney, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 8, 2019 at El Camino Hospital, Mountain View. She was born a first-generation Polish-American on September 23, 1923 to Andrzej and Louise Wieczorek, and was raised in West Allis, Wisconsin with her three sisters and two brothers.

After high school graduation, Dolores worked in payroll at Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company in West Allis, Wisconsin. In 1944 she entered into active service with the United States Navy and served in WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service), which was the women's branch of the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II. There she met Gerald "Jerry" McKinney, a Naval Chief Petty Officer, and on August 2, 1946 they were married in Seattle, Washington and later, were blessed with three children. After Jerry retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service, the family settled in Mountain View, California in May 1961.

Dolores enjoyed raising her children and being a big part of their lives, teaching them integrity, respect and honesty, and supported them in any venture they explored. She also volunteered in the Mountain View community and at Moffett Field Naval Air Station. Dolores was an active member of Saint Joseph Parish in Mountain View and later in life at Saint William Parish in Los Altos and at the Mountain View Senior Center. She was an accomplished athlete during her youth and enjoyed basketball, softball, golf, horseback riding and bowling.

Dolores and Jerry McKinney were married for 60 years before Jerry passed away in 2006. They raised three children in their Mountain View home: Michael McKinney, Michele McKinney Roberts and Patricia McKinney. Dolores was a beloved grandmother to her two grandsons Ryan and Michael Roberts, loving mother-in-law to Gary Roberts, and was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews and all their children.

Dolores and Jerry died on the same day, November 8, 13 years apart. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Andrzej and Louise Wieczorek, husband Gerald F. McKinney, sisters Genevieve (Stanley) Borzynski, Angie (Howard) Newman, and Helen (Ed) Packard, and brothers Stanley (Jane) Wieczorek and Lawrence (Delores) Wieczorek.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Villa Siena Chapel, 1855 Miramonte Avenue, Mountain View, on Wednesday, December 11 at 9:30 am, followed by a reception. Private interment services will follow.
