Elizabeth Marie ''Betty'' Hart, age 80 of Webster, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Greenery Specialty Care Center.
Born in Hanover, New Hampshire on August 26, 1939, a daughter of Doig Rutherford Benedict and Margaret Josephine Rice Benedict.
After graduating high school, Betty moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she initially studied nursing and later worked for an insurance firm. There she met her husband, James Kenneth Hart, who was serving in the U.S. Navy. They relocated to Rostraver Township in 1961. Betty was a homemaker and worked at various times at the former Sweeney's Giant Eagle in Rostraver Township, Hallmark Cards in Century III Mall at West Mifflin and various other jobs.
Betty is survived by her sons; Reverend Brian K. Hart and wife Karen of West Mifflin and Nathan Hart of Monessen; daughters, Denise Hart of Webster, Diane Webster and husband Richard of Donora, and Sara Hart of Youngwood; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters Louise Haley and husband Robert of Marblehead, Massachusetts and Ruth Keefe and husband Terrence of Bellows Falls, Vermont; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Kevin James Hart in 2013 and her sister, Jean Benedict in 2013.
Friends will be received on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township at which time a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Brian K. Hart officiating.
Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
