Betty Jean Perkins, 71 of Charleston, WV departed this life Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Thomas Memorial Hospital at Charleston.

She was born May 18, 1948 at Logan, WV to the late Albert Ott and Martha J. McNeely. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edward Perkins; daughter, Stephanie Damron; great-granddaughter, Zoey Ann McKinney; brothers, Charlee McNeely, Robert McNeely, and Lightburn McNeely; and sister, Ruby Brewster.

Betty was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She would help anyone she ever met if need be.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Linda) Perkins of Logan, WV, Charles Perkins, Sherry (James) Taylor, Viola Perkins all of Charleston, WV; and Lewis (Nadie) Perkins of Marmet, WV; sister, Alma Stevens of Spencer, WV. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2020 at Akers-James Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
