Martha Johnson Wood was born in Springfield,Ohio on July 2, 1949. Her parents were Benjamin Franklin Johnson and Mariamne Hixson Johnson. Her parents had been married 16 years before they were finally blessed with Martha's birth. Two years later, her sister Phyllis joined the family. Martha graduated from Springfield North High School in 1967. She had worked as a school lunch lady and home care giver. She loved to read and to write stories springing from her vivid imagination. Martha was a loving and giving lady and you could always count on her. She was a devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield. Martha was predeceased by her parents, her son, Stephan Wood, who died in a car accident at 22 months old, and her niece, Mariamne Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Johnson, her niece Becky, 2 great-nephews and 1 great-niece. Martha spent the last years of her life in the Allenview Health Care Facility where she made many friends. The family wants to express their gratitude to all her friends and family there who gave her such good care and love. Martha was a loving soul and she will always be loved and missed.
