Harry, as he was best known, worked for Franklin Glass Company in Butler, PA for 54 years. He started working at the company one year after it's inception. At his retirement he was awarded a pink-tinted mirror for never missing a day of work and a gold pocket watch. He never drove a car and always walked to work which was about three to four miles from where he lived.
He married Keziah Belle Thompson in 1895 in Butler, and together they had four children: Leverette Leland, Clifford, Horace Levi and Bertha Lillian.
He was a member of the Butler Methodist Church.
