Myra was born on February 13, 1957 to Leola and John Agnew in Caruthersville, Missouri. She departed this life December 21, 2019 at North Shore University Hospital in Evanston, Illinois.
Myra professed a hope in Christ at an early age under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Roach in Caruthersville, MO. Myra was a member of Chicago Church of Christ where she was a devoted and faithful member until her death.
On July 5, 1977 she was united in holy matrimony to Kittrell L. Brewer in Caruthersville, MO and to this union two children were born. She was proceeded in death by her father, John Agnew, Sr. and one sister Addie Agnew.
She was a graduate of the class of 1975 at Caruthersville High School in Caruthersville, MO. After high school Myra attended Southeast Missouri State University and later moved to Chicago, IL in the summer of 1977.
Myra worked many years uin the insurance field as an administrative assistant at Chubb and Aetna and as a field assistant at Unam.
Myra loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, reading her Bible, and traveling with her husband.
Myra leaves to cherish in her memories, her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, Kittrell; two sons, Kevin and Adrian (Bernard); one granddaughter, Danajah Murray; her mother, Leola Agnew; three brothers, Rickie Agnew, Calvin Agnew and John Agnew III, two sisters, Bridget Kaye Crooks and Brenda Faye Agnew, one sister-in-law, Emma Burdette, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
During Myra's last three years of life she had a myriad of health issues but she remained steadfast and faithful in GOD. Here are some of her last words she wrote in a journal, "I am a strong woman. Everything that has hit me in life I've dealt with. I've cried myself to sleep, picked myself back up and wiped my tears. I've grown from things that were meant to break me. I get stronger by the day and have GOD to than for that."
Funeral services held Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at Divine Holiness Church with Bishop Johnny Hood officiating. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.
