Youngster had been an outstanding athlete at Bladensburg High School and was starting center on the Maryland Freshman team the year before. It sounds like he hadn't played much in the afternoon scrimmage but had been somewhat dehydrated anyway, and died of heat exhaustion after complaining that he couldn't continue the additional exercises he was made to do. He lingered for 3 1/2 days at P.G. Hospital and was transferred to Baltimore, where he died never really regained consciousness except very briefly a few minutes at any time.
His funeral was held at the little Chapel on the Maryland campus.
Survivors mentioned were his mother Lucille, and a 15 year old sister.
