NORMAL — Susan “Susie” Grace Owen-Bell, 64, of Normal, formerly of Stanford, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Susie was born on Dec. 19, 1955, in Jefferson County, Ky. She was raised by her grandparents, Clyde and Grace Owen in Stanford. She married Michael H. Bell on Dec. 20, 1986. He preceded her in death.
Susie is survived by John (Auntie Nydra) Owen, who was not just her uncle but more like her brother and Annie (Jerry) Carlock, who was her cousin, sister and best friend. Also surviving are her half siblings, Lisa (Billy) Burger, Jimmy Bridgewater, Jenny Bridgewater and Jody Bridgewater Lane. Susie had three nephews, five nieces and numerous cousins whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and
Grace Owen; her cousin Petie, who was like a brother to her; her parents, Jim (Ducky) and Sandy Bridgewater and her beloved fur babies, Jake, Sami and Burt.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Brooks Grove Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center for the care given to Susie.
Susie requested no flowers. Because Susie was an avid supporter of animal rescue and adoption, donations to the Humane Society of McLean County or TAPS in Pekin are requested in lieu of flowers.
