Mrs. Evelyn Roberts Henderson, age 81 of Statesville, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at home.
She was born in Wilkes County on October 27, 1937 to the late Carl Roberts and Cleo Mitchell Roberts.
Evelyn attended Wilkes county school and on May 28, 1954 married Wiley Henderson and together they shared 65 years of marriage. Evelyn was a member of Clear Vision Baptist Church and was a Homemaker and loved to read and study the Bible. She loved God with all her heart and was a pianist at church until her health declined in 2015. She was loved and cherished by everyone that knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Wiley Dean Henderson and one brother, David Roberts.
She is survived by her husband, Wiley Henderson of the home, one son Jimmy Carl Henderson of Statesville, one daughter, Diane Moose of Statesville and one daughter in-law Lori Henderson of Florida. One brother, Burlie Roberts (Peggy) of Wilkesboro, four sisters, Janie Moore (Dean) of Wilkesboro, Carolyn Triplett of Winston Salem, Doris Hedrick (Gene) of Statesville and Mariam Goodin (Jerry) of Statesville; Five Grandchildren Chris, Tami and Michele Henderson all of Statesville and Kylie and Carla Henderson of Florida. Six Great Grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Clear Vision Baptist Church. The Rev Jason Buchanan will officiate. The family will receive friends at 1pm, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Clear Vision Baptist Church, 180 S. Lackey St. Statesville, NC 28687.
