Joe enjoyed working his land and raising cattle. Joe and Phyllis loved to travel in their motor home, especially to Gunnison, Colorado on their yearly fishing trip. Joe was a true OU football fan, and always enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. His greatest love and joy was his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his parents and seven siblings.
Joe is survived by his children Joe Michael Nimmo, Wesley Ernest Nimmo and wife Judy, Patricia (Trish) June Nimmo, all of Ponca City. His grandchildren Tara Miner and husband Jeremy, Ponca City, Jennifer Martin and husband Blake, Stigler, OK, Joe M. Nimmo Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel Nimmo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, John Nimmo of Denver, CO, Cari Lehman of Edmond, OK, Kaycee Nimmo of Beggs, OK and Cole Nimmo of Norman, OK. Great grandchildren Bryce Miner, Maggie Martin, and Tanner Prince. He is also survived by sisters Kay McDonald of Sallisaw, Ann Nimmo and brother, Tom Nimmo of Tulsa, OK.
Casket bears will be Joe Nimmo Jr., Daniel Nimmo, John Nimmo, Cole Nimmo, Jeremy Miner, Bryce Miner, and Blake Martin.
The service will be at 1 pm, on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home, Sallisaw, OK. He will be laid to rest at Sallisaw City Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
