VALLONIA --Effie Mae Brewer, 76, of Seymour died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Seymour. She had been ill for several months.

She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Community Church.

She moved from Louisville, KY to Seymour in 1979.

Funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Graham Deary officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at the Vallonia Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Jackson County or to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Brewer was born in Washington County on 18 Oct. 1920 the daughter of Harry L. Brewer and Ethel (Pollock) Brewer. She married Walter E. Brewer on May 17, 1939 in Salem. He died Jan. 16, 1991.

Surviving sons are Ray E. and Raymond L. Brewer, both of Seymour, daughters, Loretta Taylor of Louisville, KY and Christina Miller of Orlando, FL. a brother Earl Brewer of Brownstown, a sister. Bertha Beickman of Brownstown, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Brewer, a brother Everette Brewer, a sister Ruby Bolte.
