Born September 9, 1938 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Justin Wilsford and the late Georgia Cagle Wilsford Gilliam. On August 18, 1958, she married Wendell Thurman “Tooter” Sims. Mrs. Sims was a retired Maury County Circuit Court Clerk and a member of the Bethel Church of Christ.

Mrs. Sims found the greatest joy in time spent with her family; she was an amazing pillar of unconditional love. Sarah was intelligent, beautiful, funny, and so strong in sprit. She brought so much light into those she shared her life with and her smiles, hugs, and loving touch will be so greatly missed. Her children and grandchildren grew and learned from her life experiences and wisdom. Sarah is the definition of family, and her pecan pie and quick wit made any day turn into amazing memories and so much fun. Sarah was a true matriarch and her amazing qualities and love can be seen and felt through her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Thurman “Tooter” Sims of Lynnville, TN; daughters, Emily (John Michael) Collier of Lynnville, TN and Tami (Brian) Sheffield of Bayfield, CO; son, Wendell (Lisa) Sims of Pulaski, TN; grandchildren, Robert (Rebekah) Collier, Carey (Gary) Fulmer, Blair (Gabe) O’Reilly, Blake (Clara) Johnson, Bryce Johnson, Sam Hanvy, Taylor Sims, Kayley Sims, and Riley Sims; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Sims; and brothers, Jack, Robert, and Jimmy Wilsford.
