Karen was a 1968 graduate of Kokomo High School and attended Evansville College. She retired from Solidarity F.C.U., and had worked for Delco Electronics, LaMode Shop, and Artist Showcase. Karen was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed arts & crafts, cooking, baking, and shopping, especially for shoes. Karen also enjoyed riding on the Harley Davidson, boating, water skiing, and playing cards. She truly adored her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.
Along with her husband Jimmy, Karen is survived by her children, Brent M. Higgins, and Jaime A. (Christopher) MacDonald; grandchildren, Audrey Higgins, Parker Higgins, Brodie MacDonald, and Jacob MacDonald; and brother, John Bockelman.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Nancy Jo Trott.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Chuck Jansen officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-4 pm Saturday January 11, at the funeral home.
