Swanson, Marjorie Adams 03/15/1928 ~ 03/25/2013 ESCONDIDO -- Marjorie, a resident of Escondido for 54 years, passed away at Palomar Medical Center on March 25, 2013- ten days after she celebrated her 85th birthday with friends. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Helen and Elmer Adams. She was a model and charm school instructor. She won over 21 beauty contests in Chicago- including Miss Chicago in 1950, and was a finalist for Miss America. Prior to retirement, Marjorie worked for the County of San Diego for 18 years. She married Ronald Reynolds and became widowed in 1959. In 1963 she married Dennis Swanson. Dennis passed away in 1994. Marjorie was an artist, and enjoyed painting pictures of animals, people and clowns. She will be missed by her friends and neighbors. Services will be held Wednesday April 17th at 10:00 am at EI Camino Memorial 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, 92121.
