Isaac Davenport was born in 1752, probably in Granville County, North Carolina. He died June 26, 1816. His tombstone is in the Davenport burying ground, ten miles west of the Newberry Courthouse. Isaac was the son of Francis Davenport, who furnished goods and paid for them for the American Revolution.
Isaac Davenport and his first wife Martha Anne Ridgill Davenport were the parents of Elizabeth (Betsy) Davenport who was born in 1775. She married James Murdock in 1791 at the age of 16 years old.
He was also the father of Mariah Davenport who was born July 16, 1818 and died August 7, 1826 at the age of 8 hears old. She is buried Davenport Hill Cemetery along with her father.
