Carl Edwin Reed, age 91, of Huntington, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Heritage Pointe of Warren.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Gerald Moreland officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County.

Carl was born on January 28, 1928 in Fairmount, the son of Leslie and Edna (Bell) Reed. He graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1946 and married Carla Lou Cassaday on September 11, 1948 in Andrews; she preceded him in death on October 21, 2010. Carl owned and operated Reed Tractor Service in Huntington for 40 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge in Huntington and began the community’s 4-H Tractor Maintenance Program. He enjoyed farming and gardening and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include a son, Rick (Diana) of Huntington, daughters Melissa Robinette of Maryville, Tennessee, and Louann (George) White of Roanoke, brothers William Reed of Huntington and Glen Reed of Loomis, California, and a sister, Ruth Bryan of Fort Wayne. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Birch Reed and Jim Reed, and sisters Mary Beeks, Vesta Murray, and Madeline Miller.
