Joe was a retired truck driver from C & G Trucking in Nitro and retired Fire Chief from the Bancroft Fire Department.
He was an Air Force Veteran and a member of the Nitro Moose Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies and Beni Kedem Shriners.
Joe was a graduate of Poca High School and attended West Virginia State College.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Norma Lee Holloway; parents Bill and Eva Mae Holloway; granddaughter Angie Casto and brothers Paul David Holloway and Jimmy Renwick.He is survived by his children Joanna Holloway Plumley, Joseph L. Holloway, Jr., Jonathan L. Holloway, Mary Carney, Jimmy Spencer and Lannetta Pate; siblings Carolyn Sue O'Neal, Connie Green, John Holloway, Julia Wood, Joyce Messmore, Beachie Cooper, Nancy King and Ricky Renwick and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A tribute to the life of Mr. Joseph Lee Holloway, Sr. will be 11:00 AM Tuesday December 31, 2019 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Arthur officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Wounded Veterans or a charity of choice. Gatens-Harding Funeral Home 147 Main St. Poca is serving the Holloway family.
