Jerry L. "Butch" Holcomb, Jr., 61, of Gilman, Iowa, died on December 27, 2019, at UnityPoint Marshalltown Hospital Emergency Room.

Butch was born on March 18, 1958, at the Community Hospital in Grinnell, the son of Jerry Lester and Janet Louise Mithelman Holcomb. He was raised in Grinnell and graduated with the Grinnell High School Class of 1976. During high school, Butch started his employment at Paschall Motors in the service department and later with Randy's Auto Repair in Grinnell.
On July 23, 1983, he married Wendi Gould, in Gilman. They were the parents of two children, Chelsea and Justin. The couple divorced in 1994.
Butch began driving a semi-tractor truck in 1984 and was currently employed with T & J Pelham Trucking Company in Gilman.
Butch held a strong love for his family and enjoyed sharing his time with his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, including deer and pheasant hunting, training bird dogs with his good buddy, Ronnie Moyer, and camping. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and later his Jeep.
Surviving his mother, Janet Holcomb of Grinnell; two children, Chelsea (Cody) Starn of Gilman and Justin Holcomb of Gilman; his sister, Brenda (Todd) Dominik of Lee's Summit, Missouri; five grandchildren, Blake, Braxton, Kodie, Emery, and Brixlee; and his step-son, Eric (Heidi) Moyer of Lynnville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; his granddaughter, Jossi Starn; and his friend, Ronnie Moyer.
