Thomas Edwards is listed as a neighboring landowner to a survey for Liberder and Barnard in Orangeburg Township on Aug. 20, 1753 (SC Dept. of Archives).

Thomas Edwards was named "suscept" (evidently godfather or sponsor) to two children baptized in Orangeburg District, dated Nov. 2, 1755. (Register of Orangeburg Church; see "The History of Orangeburg County, South Carolina...")

Thomas Edwards appeared in a jury list of Saxa Gotha in 1778-79. See: http://genealogytrails.com/scar/1778-79_jurylist17.htm

He received a plat for 200 acres on the waters of the North Edistoe River in Orangeburg District on July 23, 1784. On October 25, 1785 he received another 100 acres. SC Archives search: Series: State Plat Books (Charleston Series) (S213190)

A "Thomas Edwards" is one of several men named Edwards who appear in the 1790 US census in Orangeburg District, SC who may be related: Richard, Victor, William, David and James Edwards. On Nov. 22, 1808, a Thomas Edwards (possibly his son) is named in plat of Joseph Edwards for 160 acres in Orangeburg District. State Plat Books (Columbia Series) (S213192)

There is also a "Joseph Edwards Cemetery" also in Branchville. According to his gravestone, Joseph lived Feb. 24, 1775 - June 10, 1845. This may be a son of Thomas. https://sites.rootsweb.com/~sccgpss/38-orangeburg.html
