A service to honor the life of Douglas A. Masters will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Matkin and Bro. Larry Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on the 31st at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Doug, 74 years of age, passed away December 28, 2019. He was born on June 21, 1945, to Wilmerth Delton Masters and Nadine McGaha Masters in Natchitoches, LA. Doug retired as an assistant police chief of the Natchitoches Police Department after 29 years of service. He also served in the Louisiana National Guard for 4 years, was a member of the 10th district policy jury, a volunteer fireman for fire district no. 4, and was a member of the Middle Creek Masonic Lodge. A long-time member of Bellwood Baptist Church, he had a deep faith in God. Doug lived a long and full life and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Durr Masters; sons, Anthony Masters and wife Misty, and Douglas Andrew Masters, Jr.; grandchildren, Hunter Delton Masters, David Isaac Masters, and Grayson Wade Masters; sisters, Nadine Simon, Margaret Masters, and Renee Rachal; and brothers, George Masters and Glynn Masters. He was preceded in death by his parents.
