Mr. Sharp was born October 28, 1952 in Bridgeton, NJ. He was a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist for the N.C. Division of Services for the Blind. He was a son of the late Nelson Earl Sharp.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Mary Jane Sharp; daughters, Rachel Sharp and Latasha Vandermeer; sons, David Sharp and wife Becky and Jonathan Sharp and wife Libby; mother, Vivian Holding Sharp; sisters, Lorraine Matthews and Paulette Udodov; brother, Steven Sharp; and three grandchildren. He enjoyed photography and nature and especially loved to photograph the Blue Ridge Mountains. Mr. Sharp was also an avid gardener and animal lover.
His memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
