Pearl Virginia Wright Reed was born December 24, 1929, in Mount Union, Texas, to Adell Rhone Wright and Fred Wright, Sr. She was the sixth child born to this union. Pearl passed away from this life on Sunday, June 26, 2016, in her home in Wylie, Texas. She attended Walnut Hill School in Mount Union, Texas, where she received her high school education. She enrolled into college at Prairie View A&M University, receiving her bachelor's degree in education. While attending Prairie View A&M, she met the love of her life, Mr. Emuel Leon Reed, during one of his visits to the campus. Mr. Emuel Reed visited the campus often to check on his younger sister. On May 1, 1954, Pearl Wright became Mrs. Pearl Virginia Wright Reed, and to this wedded union came one daughter, Gaynell Reed. Pearl began her teaching career in Kirbyville, Texas. In 1963, Pearl and Emuel relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she began her teaching career with Dallas Independent School District, she later received her master's degree in education from Texas Woman's University. She had a love for teaching and inspiring young minds so much that she taught for thirty-plus years with Dallas Independent School District. Mrs. Reed was a lifetime member of Denley Drive Christian Church of Dallas, Texas. She had a love for Christ, her family, baking, knitting and sewing, but she most of all enjoyed all forms of education. Pearl was met with open arms on that early Sunday morning of June 26, 2016, as she entered into her eternal home with her parents, Adell and Fred Wright Sr.; her husband, Emuel Leon Reed; and her seven siblings. Her Life, Legacy and Love will always be cherished by her daughter, Gaynell Reed; stepdaughter, Kimberly Reed Moore; granddaughter, Kendra Janelle Brown-Phillips, husband Brent; great-granddaughter, Rowan Nicole Phillips; sister, Beatrice Wright Sasser, husband Joe D.; brother, Owen Wright, wife Eve; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
