David J. Charles, 60, of Canonsburg, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born August 7, 1957, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late David and Joann Tongel Charles.

David lived most of his life in Canonsburg and was a graduate of Canon-McMillan Sr. High School. He was a Catholic and a self-employed general contractor and painter. David enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins and spending time with his family.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his beloved daughter Tonya Ramey and her husband, James of Pflugerville, Texas; his son David J. Charles II of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Haley, Jackson and Hanna Ramey; his four sisters, Diane (Frank) Charles-Cossu of Canonsburg, Darlene (Richard) Rozik of Washington, Doreen (John) Corey and Danile Charles Meny of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his brother in law Richard Meny.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 until 10 a.m., the time of service, Tuesday, December 31, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
