Kelvin Wayne Williams was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was born January 27, 1966 and transitioned to be with his heavenly father on October 1, 2012. A resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kelvin is survived by his devoted wife of nineteen years, Mia Vavasseur Williams; two loving daughters, Karlie Mia and Kaylie Marie; parents Carl and Helen Williams, siblings Karla (Timothy) Smith of Huntsville, Alabama, Carl (Jackie) Williams III of Gulfport, Mississippi; a niece, Kayla Smith and nephew, Carl Williams IV; mother-in-law, Wanda M. Dunn and father-in-law, Joseph Vavasseur, Jr. and a host of family and friends. Kelvin was a partner in Professional Restoration Conractors of Louisiana (PRC) for eleven years. He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and Southern University. He was a lifetime member of the Southern University Alumni Association and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Kelvin grew up in Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as an altar boy. As an adult, he became a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. There he served as a member of the Board of Trustees, Finance Committee and the Renovation Team. Kelvin loved his family dearly, was an avid golfer, a cigar connoisseur, and a grill master. Viewing will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street. Funeral services will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church, 9375 Highland Road, Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10 am, with Rev. Juan C. Huertas officiating. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memoral Park under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made in thename of Mia Williams for the benefit of Karlie and Kaylie Williams at any Chase Bank location.
