AUGUST 3, 1957 – DECEMBER 27, 2019

Robin M. Carter, age 62; of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday (December 27, 2019) at her home.

She was born on August 3, 1957 in Kingsport, TN to Geneva Ellis & Roby Humphry.

She married her longtime friend and love of her life, Rusty Carter in 1983 who preceded her in death in 2006.

Robin was a caregiver. Not only was it her profession but it was her passion. Robin was a kind soul who would do anything for a person in need. She especially loved her six grandchildren and was always smothering them in love. Robin loved Christmas and loved to spoil her family around the holidays. She also loved to cook and had a baker's touch that can't be touched.

For nearly 25 years, Robin was a foster parent for TRACES. Her home was first opened to a teenager in 1993 and it didn't stop there. Over the years, Robin would foster over 100 children and welcome them into her home with love. It suited her loving heart. Her life was a true example of the kindness that flowed from her.

Robin is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lonzie and Dora Hunt; her father, Roby Humphry; and her husband, Rusty Carter.

Robin is survived by her mother Geneva "Nanner" Ellis; two daughters; Nekesha Carter-Williams & husband Chris and Layne Carter-Haywood; one son, Marcus Carter & wife Harley Logan-Carter; six grandchildren, Angelina O'Connor, Payton and Natalie Williams, Taryn and Amaya Haywood, and Kylah Carter; and one very special aunt, Wanda Hunt-Arnold and husband Jack.
