A Funeral Service for Sara Ellen Shelton of Cotter, Arkansas, will be 4:00 pm, Friday, December 27, 2019, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2019, from 3:00 pm until service time, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Memphis Memorial Park, Memphis, Tennessee.

Sara passed away December 24, 2019, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. She was born March 27, 1931, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Hubert and Edith Raymond Faulkner. She married Cecil Ray Shelton. Sara lived in Cotter since moving from Memphis, Tennessee, in 2001, and was a member of the Twin Lakes Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and making people laugh.

Sara is survived by her daughter, Jill Shelton of Mountain Home, AR; granddaughter, Nicki (John) Dismukes of Nashville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Reese and Addison; and daughter-in-law, Donna Howard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Michael Howard.

Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes Baptist Church Hope Center, the Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of choice.
