He was baptised on the 12 Feb 1843 in St. Mary's, Southampton, Hampshire, the son of James Fuller Boxer & Matilda Mary nee Sturdee. He was a Commander, RN, retired, and died at 24 Kingmorth Gardens Folkestone. He served in the Royal Navy and was Superintendent of Folkestone Harbour.

In 1851 he was at 1 Coast Guard Terrace, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire, with his father, James F Boxer 37, a Master RN, in command of the coast guard station. Also a servant.

In 1861 he was a midshipman, aboard the Victor Emanuel, in the mediterranean.

In 1871 he was a Lieutenant, on HMS Sealark, a tender to The Implacable.

Off Drakes Island, Plymouth Sound, Devon.

He married Georgina on the 16 Dec 1875 in Sydenham, London.

In 1881 he was a Commander R N Harbour Master; they were living at 1 Marine Parade, Folkestone, with 2 children, Edith ,C. 4 and Arthur C. 1. They had 2 servants.

In 1891 they were at 1 Marine Parade, with 4 children, Edith Mary Crichton 14, Arthur Chichester 11, Herbert Seymour 10 and Henry Percy 5.

In 1901 they were living at 1 Marine Parade, with a daughter, Edith M C 24. They had a visitor and a servant.

In 1911 they were living at 1 Marine Parade, Folkestone with a son Herbert Seymour Boxer, aged 28, a bank clerk and two servants. They had been married for 36 years and had four children, all living in 1911.
