Died in the Gotha Raid on Folkestone on 25th May 1917. Married Anne Vye in 1907. Albert was a retired naval man who worked as a gardener at The Grange School in Shorncliffe Road. He was working at the school that evening when he was hit in the neck by a piece of shrapnel (another report says it was a piece of guttering) which cut the main artery, causing him to bleed to death.
