Elaine Albertson was born 7 Jan 1925 to Ole and Ella Amanda (Hove) Albertson in South Viking township near Maddock. Elaine was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated high school from the Benson County Agricultural and Training School in Maddock in 1942.

After graduation she moved to Long Beach, CA where she was employed at Douglas Aircraft as a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. After her brother Marvin Albertson died, she returned to Maddock to work and help on her parents farm.

Elaine Albertson married Arnold H. Green on 29 Oct 1947 in Moorhead, MN. They lived on the Anton Green farm west of Maddock from 1947 to 1956 which had been homesteaded by Arnold's grandfather. In 1956 they moved with their children to Colorado Springs, CO where Arnold bought a business. They lived there until 1959 when they returned to the Maddock area and farmed south of Maddock until moving into Maddock and lived in the house Elaine's parents had built in the 1960's. In 2011 Elaine moved to the Park View Apartments where she lived until 2014 when she moved to the Maddock Memorial Home. She later moved to the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford.

Elaine's first job as a teenager was hauling hay with a team of horses for a neighbor for 25 cents an hour. Elaine was employed at several businesses in Maddock including the Maddock Memorial Hospital and Service and Parts. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting with the family, was an avid bowler and golfer, enjoyed playing rummy and watching the Minnesota Twins and Bison football on TV. She remained fairly active into her 90's. Elaine, young at heart and always the daredevil, rode on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle at the age of 89. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her dogs Penny, Suzie and Odie and celebrating with her girlfriends in "The Birthday Girls Club".

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Hakanson(Ansel) and her son, James Green both of Maddock; sister, Arlee Brothers of Pantego, TX and daughter-in-law, Barbara Green of Fargo, ND; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great granchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; sons, Jerry and George; her parents Ole and Amanda Albertson and her brother, Marvin Albertson.
