Caroline Putnam Walker, 78, of East Dennis died Saturday Dec. 3 at her home. She was born in Fairhaven and was a graduate of Smith College in Northampton. She also attended Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. A retired teacher and school administrator, she taught history at the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Conn, and was its acting headmistress from 1957 to 1958. She was its academic dean from 1936 to 1968. She retired to Cape Cod in 1968 but had spent summers in East Dennis since 1937. A member of St. David's Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth, she was also a member of the Smith College club of Cape Cod and the East Dennis Ladies Aid. Burial was at Quivet Cemetery, East Dennis.
