It is with great sadness that the family of Sheryl "Sherry" Ann Lane (Griffin) of Valparaiso, 63, announces her passing.
Sherry will be lovingly remembered as a caring mother of two sons and grandmother of 3 girls. Sherry always thought of others before herself. She loved the ocean, talking with her friends, was an avid sun worshiper, read constantly, was quick witted, and enjoyed baking and crafting throughout her life. Sherry loved playing cards, board games, sudoku, and brain teasers. In her younger years she was awarded Ms. Rosamond (California) beauty pageant, graduated from Rosamond High School, graduated from American River University, and achieved several certifications from various technical institutions. During her career, Sherry worked for government contracting firms in Northern Virginia in which she received awards for her hard work and dedication. Sherry was extremely bright, smart, and competitive. Locally, Sherry was grateful to recently spend time with her Sister and Niece. Sherry will be missed dearly.
Sherry is survived by her children, Grandchildren, and a large family of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Nieces.
There will be a funeral service at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Heritage Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness: www.donate.nami.org or Mental Health America, www.mhanational.org.
You may express condolences to the family and sign the guestbook at www.heritagegardensfuneralhome.com. Heritage Gardens Funeral Home of Niceville is entrusted with the arrangements.
