Gary Kufner, 70, of Athens, Georgia, died on December 25, 2019. He was the son of the late Frederick & Emilie Kufner. Gary lived most of his life in Hollywood, Florida but spent the last sixteen years as a proud resident of Oconee County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard & Fred Kufner. He is survived by his wife, Dee Kufner; daughters: Loren Kufner Towe, Danielle Kufner, & Tannis Kufner; grandchildren: Austin Towe, Cameron Towe, & Ruby Cash; & his numerous “grandpets.”

Gary was a talented photographer with a love for his family & sports. He loved watching his grandchildren play. Gary was a Veteran for the US Army & served in the Vietnam War.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Lord and Stephens, West. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. before the service.

The Kufner family would like to request that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made in his honor to the Oconee County GA Youth Little League or the Oconee County Parks a& Department to honor his love & pride for his community and youth sports.
