Mr. Desselle, 81, of Ball, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, in his residence.
He was a United States Army Veteran and an avid bow hunter. He was the first National Hunting and Fishing Day Chairman and a specialist for BEAR Archery. He wrote a monthly column for the Louisiana Bowman Outdoors, with LeRoy, and was a hunter education specialist. He won several local, state and national honors in the bow hunter division. He was also a retired building contractor and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Desselle; his mother and stepfather, Rita and Raymond Lodridge and one sister, Ann Sanson.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Christian Desselle, of Ball; two god children, Darla Whittington and Melissa Humbles; one brother, Michael Lodridge and his wife, Peggy, of Dry Prong; special friends, Butch and Melba Sanderfer; several nieces and nephews and his furbaby, Smokey.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being held at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
