Paul Leroy Dixon, 79, of Rock, KS passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 31 at the Rock United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Douglass Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M. Sunday, December 29 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
Paul was born in Vinita, OK on December 4, 1940 to parents Paul and Mabel (Drake) Dixon. He graduated from high school in 1958. He was united in marriage to Joan Nichols at the Rock United Methodist Church on January 7, 1961. He was a store manager at McLellan’s and then went to work at TG&Y for most of his career, he made manager of the year many times. Paul was a hard worker and would work early in the morning to late at night, he enjoyed trimming trees, cutting wood and working on old cars, especially his 1951 Ford. Paul moved to Rock in 1975 and was very involved in the community, he was on the board of the Rock Rural Water Board and was a member of the Rock United Methodist Church.
He is survived by wife Joan Dixon, son Greg Dixon and wife Shelley, daughter Anita Simon and husband Allen, grandchildren: Charly (Dustin) Wilhelm, Kacie ( Daniel) Rasico, and Chancee Hager, great-grandchildren: Pyper Rasico, Kooper Rasico, and Tukker Rasico. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Betty Jones and Robert Birkes, and granddaughter Brittney Hager.
