Norman Glenn Murphy, 93, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:48 A.M. December 26, 2019 at his residence with his daughter by his side. He was born December 28, 1925 in Mount Vernon to the late Glenn A. and Lena (Jennings) Murphy. Norman married Maxine Lee. She preceded him in death in 1985. He later married Phyllis Gaunt Regenhart. She also preceded him in death.

Norman is survived by his daughter, Kay Murphy of Mount Vernon; grandsons, Sean Murphy and Michael Murphy, both of Bollingbrook, Illinois; and daughter-in-law, Diane Murphy of Bollingbrook, Illinois.

In addition to his parents and wives, Norman was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Murphy.

Norman proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was the Vice President of the First National Bank in Mount Vernon, Illinois and was also the President of the First National Bank of O’Fallon, Illinois. Norman was of the Christian faith. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
