Ronald Lee Fowler, age 75 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Elwood Health and Living following an extended illness. He was born December 14, 1944 in Elwood, the son of Dellma D. and Pauline R. (Rogers) Fowler. Ron was in the 1962 class of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood. He worked in production for Delco Remy in Anderson for over 27 years, and he retired in 1981. Ron was well known for owning and operating Fowler’s Bike Shop at his home in Elwood for many years. He was a member of the U.A.W. #662. Ron was a classic car enthusiast and was formerly active in several different car clubs. He especially enjoyed tinkering and fixing old cars and also attending local car shows. More than anything, Ron will be remembered as a very hard working person.

Ron’s family includes 2 children, William R. (wife Joy) Fowler of Elwood and Rowena Sue Sizelove of Anderson; 2 grandchildren, Keisha Bannon and Elton Sizelove; step granddaughter, Amy Zimmer; and 2 great-grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by both his parents.

A funeral service celebrating Ron’s life will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Bill Johnston of Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday prior to the service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Cremation will take place after the funeral, and burial will take place at a later date.
