Warren Hershel (Sunshine) Slaughter, 82, of West Helena went to be with his Lord December 26, 2019. Mr. Slaughter was born May 19, 1937, at the home of his grandparents in Phillips County to Webster and Laura Jarrett Slaughter.

He was an Elder in Cleburne Avenue Presbyterian Church and served his church faithfully. He was active in Emergency Management Services, served as a poll worker for many years, and was a volunteer at Helena Regional Medical Center. A graduate of Marvell High School he served in the United States Navy and worked as a refinery operator for Riceland Foods.

Mr. Slaughter was predeceased by his children, Rebecca Ann and Warren Mark Slaughter; his parents; sister Nancy Slaughter Gibson; and an infant brother.

He was survived by his wife of fifty-seven years Kay Ragsdale Slaughter; daughters Alicia Slaughter Walker of Maryville, TN, Camille (Paul) Schafer of Horn Lake, MS; grandchildren Jacob and Christina Walker of Maryville, TN; brother Rick (Valerie) Slaughter of Houston, TX; one niece, one nephew and many cousins.
