Peg was born December 30, 1940 in Denver, Colorado to the home of Howard and Mary (Maloney) Kinkel.
Peg made her home in Fort Sumner where she raised her family. She worked for several local businesses including Addison Drug Store, as a bartender at the Black Angus, Golden Ox, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. She also worked with the De Baca County News photography, Fort Sumner Florist, and as a Rural Postal Carrier.
Peg was active in the community, she served as a De Baca County 4-H Leader, she taught sewing and quilt making, she was a caretaker of animals, loved horseback riding, reading, photography and photo processing. Peg was a past member of 4-H, Fort Sumner Quilting Club, Powderhorn Cowbelles, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Peg is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Kinkel in 1980, Mary Kinkel in 1996, two brothers Alfredo G. "Freddy" Kinkel in 1996, Howard D. "Butch" Kinkel in 1995, and two husbands, Ted Young in 1992, and Lonnie Darrell Bishop in 1998.

She is survived by two daughters Kelly (Coffin) Reese of Chandler, AZ and Dawn "Dee" Costner of Center, CO, one sister Kathleen "Kathy" Kinkel of Salem, OR, a niece Joyce Jones of Portland, OR, two grandsons Brian Gilbert (Sara) of Center, CO, Kyle Costner of Monte Vista, CO, granddaughter Tabytha Osborn (Jason) of Crestview, FL, and five great-grandchildren Addison Gilbert, Pierce Gilbert, and Lance Gilbert, Jonah Osborn and Jaxon Osborn.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions to the De Baca County 4-H Club or the Fraternal Order of Eagles in memory of Margaret "Peg" Bishop

Margaret "Peg" Bishop, 78 a longtime Fort Sumner, NM resident passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Guadalupe County Hospital following an illness. Peg made her home at Vecinos Sanos Assisted Living in Santa Rosa.

She is survived by two daughters Kelly Reese of Chandler, AZ and Dawn Costner of Center, CO.
