Howard Harold Hill, age 91, of Hayward, MN died Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, MN. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with Military Honors by the Wells Color Guard. Burial will be in Staples, MN in Evergreen Hill Cemetery. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is entrusted with services.
Howard was born March 14th, 1928 in Lakota, IA to Ray and Ruby (Newby) Hill. He attended school and farmed in the areas of Ogilvie and Bricelyn, MN. He served in the U.S. Army from October 24th, 1950- October 24th, 1952. He was stationed at Fort Snelling in Minnesota, Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, Camp Rucker in Alabama, and Camp McCoy in Wisconsin.
Upon returning home to Ellendale, MN he farmed with his grandfather, John Hill. Howard later bought farms in Browerville and Staples, MN where he farmed and milked a herd of Jerseys. In 2005 Howard moved to Hayward, MN to enjoy retirement near his family.
Howard enjoyed the quiet farm life among lots of trees, sharing life stories, playing cards, putting together puzzles, and occasional casinos. He was always good for a laugh and pleasant to everyone, even when he was not feeling well.
Howard is survived by his sister Ruth (Marvin) Enzenauer of Ellendale, MN; Nieces and Nephews Linda (Gary) Seykora of Owatonna, MN, Dan (Shelly Standke) Enzenauer of Ellendale, MN, Dawn (David) Macht of Owatonna, MN, Tim Enzenauer of Ellendale, MN, Suzann (Tracy) Skaar of Hayward, MN. Great Nieces and Nephews; Tony(Chantelle) Seykora of Ellendale, MN, Amanda (Chad) Nelson and three children of Waconia, MN, Andrew Enzenauer and son of Owatonna, MN, Vicki (Grant) Eipers of West Concord, MN, Dana Standke of Ellendale, MN, Miranda Macht and daughter of Waseca, MN, Mic (Lauren) Skaar, Jay Skaar, and Shayna Skaar, all of Hayward, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, lots of cousins, aunts and uncles.
