Matthew R. Baker, age 42, of Marissa, IL, passed away at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at his residence.
He was born January 19, 1977 in Belleville, the son of the late Angela Baker. He married Shelly Morrison. She survives.
Also surviving are two children: Nathan (Janice) Baker of Marissa and Emma Baker of Pinckneyville, IL; two step-children: Kaeli Lane of Marissa and Logan Underwood of Pinckneyville; one grandson, Nathan Baker, Jr.; five cousins: Natalie Clendenin of St. Louis, MO, Darrell (Marcie) Routt of Alton, IL, Eric (Amy) Routt of Troy, MO, Justin Routt of New Athens, IL and Gavin Routt of New Athens; two aunts: Pamela (the late Greg) Bogacki of Imperial, MO and Sherry (Lonnie) Routt of New Athens; and a dear friend, Jessica (King) Rury.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
