Obituary for Mrs. Ollie Mae White
Ollie Mae White was born December 6, 1925 in Silver City,
Mississippi to the late Augustus Jones and Mattie (nee Gordon)Thurman.
She was the only child. Ollie Mae was educated in Belzoni, Mississippi.
She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and never lost her faith.
She united with Canaan Missionary Baptist Church after moving to
Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1954 where she was a faithful member. During her
membership, she served on the Senior Usher Board, supervised the Angel
Choir and served in the kitchen until she relocated to Douglasville, Georgia in 2014.

Ollie Mae met, fell in love and married the love of her life
Sammie White on September 11, 1943 in Belzoni, Mississippi. They
were best friends and inseparable. To this union two children were
born. Ollie Mae was the love of her family's lives; never hesitating
to do whatever it took to raise the entire family.

Ollie Mae worked as a dietician at the Veterans Administration
in Great Lakes, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 16 years before
retiring to become a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, fishing,
worshipping, navigating (the family lives) and spending time with
her friends and family.

Ollie Mae closed the doors to this life on April 3, 2017. Ollie was
proceeded in death by her father Augustus Jones, her mother Mattie
(nee Gordon)Thurman, her husband Sammie White, her daughter
Sandra Moton, and her stepson Nevalle Swan. Stepfathers, Willie
Williamson, "Sonny Boy Williamson"; and Reverend Jodie Thurman.

She leaves precious memories of one daughter, Crystal White,
her grandchildren, Karen Mathews, Patrice White, Donna Moton
(Maurice Wright), Johnny Moton, Yolanda White-Barney (Willie
Barney), Bryant White (Rosa White), Towana Moton and Robert
Moton (Vanessa Moton); Three Sisters-in Laws; and a very dear
friend, Mrs. Essie Holifield; 23 Great grandchildren and 11 Great-
Great grandchildren, and a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends.
