Robert A. Burns, 71, of East Dennis, died Tuesday, April 23 at Cape Cod Hospital. Born and educated in Albany, N.Y., he was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. He was an advertising copywriter for several companies in Rochester, N.Y, New York City, and Providence, R.I., before moving to East Dennis from Rochester in 1980. As a Cape resident, he was a communicant of Our Lady of the Cape Church, West Brewster. Survivors include his wife, Alice (Doclot) Burns of East Dennis; four daughters; two sons; two brothers, and three grandchildren. Burial was in Quivet Neck Cemetery, East Dennis. Memorial donations may be sent to Dennis Rescue Squad, Dennis Port.
