FROM MCLEAN FUNERAL HOME OBITUARY:

Claudine Nicholson Hunnicutt, 87, died Friday, November 4, 2011. Born in Towns County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester Nicholson and Sarah Edith Owens Nicholson. Mrs. Hunnicutt was a retired waitress at Grahams Fish Fry and a member of West Cramerton Baptist Church. She was an avid vegetable gardener and quilter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ballard Hunnicutt; brothers, Cline and Furman Nicholson; sisters, Dorothy Hunt and Dallas Sprinkles.

Survivors include her children and spouses, Jerry and Elizabeth Hunnicutt of Belmont, Darryl and Peggy Hunnicutt of Gastonia, and Sheila Morrow of Spindale; brother and sister-law, Hughlon and Shelby Nicholson of Gastonia; sisters, Frances Hunnicutt of Hiawassee, Georgia, Willeane Parker of Belmont, and Roberta Huffstickler of Gastonia; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2011 at West Cramerton Baptist Church with Rev. James Barnes and Rev. Mike Ivey officiating. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Cramerton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 368, Cramerton, NC 28032 or the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220
