He was born on October 8, 1982, in Lancaster the son of Pat and Karen (Kjos) Schroeder. Matt farmed, was employed at the Cassville Power Plant until it closed, and most recently farmed his family farm. On September 17, 2011, he was united in marriage to Jenna Mezera at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. Together they have one daughter, Nevaeh. Matt was an avid sports fan, especially the Minnesota Vikings, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. He also enjoyed camping, deer hunting with his in-laws, trap shooting with his nephews and brothers-in-law, and a good game of cards. Matt dearly loved spending time with his princess, Nevaeh and his queen, Jenna and caring for foster children. Matt had a determination and a will that enabled him to be a 21 year cancer survivor.
