Reidsville – Wallace Coley Cox, 62, of 1801 Mt. Carmel Church Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Covington Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. David Surrett officiating. The burial will follow at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wallace was a native of Rockingham County and the son of the late Lonnie and Janie Bailey Cox. After serving as an insurance adjuster for most of his career, he later retired from Penn National Insurance Company with over 15 years of service. He was a long time and faithful member of Covington Wesleyan Church where he served as a former Board member and an usher for many years. He was an avid Tar Heel basketball fan and enjoyed travel and playing sports, including basketball, golf and softball. Wallace was always humble and friendly and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his brothers, Preston Cox and wife, Mary Ann and Buddy Cox and wife, Betty all of Reidsville; his sisters, Doris Cox Myrick and husband, Leon, Louise Cox Williams and Shirley Cox Rickman and husband, Dewey all of Reidsville and Joanne Cox Sutton of Madison; special friend, Joyce Case; numerous nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, October 20 at Covington Wesleyan Church (3218 Vance Street Ext.) and other times at his home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Covington Food Pantry, 3218 Vance Street Ext., Reidsville, NC 27320.
